A young Ayurvedic Doctor & Entrepreneur wanted to create a facility for Healing and Wellness in a 2 Tier town. This would also serve as a retreat for people coming in for Wellness Tourism.
The location of the facility was in a Warm & Dry region. The Courtyard typology suited well for this kind of Climate. Extensive use of Jalis and smaller openings and large overhangs ensured shade to walls hence creating cooling affect to the air as it entered the buildings.
The aesthetics of such a place is expected to be vernacular and rustic. This is partly due to the comfortable and warm feel which is created by the sloping roof volume and colours of the natural material used.
We created an OPD, Treatment Centre, Yoga Centre, Mess, Dormitories & Private Rooms.
