Our entry in the IIA Pune Chapter’s Open Competition for the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) focused on designing a hotel, clubhouse, and indoor sports facilities near the Mumbai-Pune expressway outside Pune.

Big Loo – Competition

In Cities people are constantly on the move and travel far & longer from their comfort spaces. The need to refresh and rejuvenate for having a productive and enjoyable day out is a dream for many. India predominantly has a hot climate with humidity ranging from city to city. The need to relieve and refresh is a very basic physical need in such climates. The current situations in our cities, mainly Mumbai is pathetic from point of view of City experience. As a country, we don’t celebrate the outdoors too much and we have now switched to the Mall culture in hope for solace from the hustle bustle of the City. Our Public Toilets lack the dignity of a function that is so intrinsic to our lives. It is essential that we revisit our Public Toilets and create a different image and identity around them. Affordable Housing – Competition

Shelter is one of the most basic necessity for a human being. We as a nation needs to strive hard in order to achieve this for all our fellow countrymen, only then we can collectively rise! We as building industry professionals have to engage & participate in a conversation with the other experts & stakeholders of the industry in order to achieve this. We wish to put forth our thoughts in the hope that it is critically analysed and appreciated. 

Cost can be cut in two distinct ways – qualitatively or quantitatively. We believe that compromising in quality is not an option. The methodology we have adopted is to strip down layers of perception that have grown thick on the culture of housing development and hope that we find solutions.

Institute amongst Trees – Competition

The program of the NAAC demands for formal interaction spaces and at the same time calls for quieter isolated spaces for contemplation. The Site is thickly vegetated with a dense growth of eucalyptus trees. In its present state the site creates a suitable environment for contemplation, introspection and reflection. Thus creating an architecture; retaining the essence of the site i.e. in and around the existing flora is an ideal way to build the new campus for the NAAC.
